Feast Day of Our Lady

The Feast Day of Our Lady, Untier of Knots, takes place on Monday 28th September in St. Anne's Church, Shankill.  A Novena in her honour will begin next Sunday 20th September at the 10.30am Mass and will continue each day at the 10.00am Masses until the Feast Day.

The Old Testament Background to Jesus’ Radical vision

Prompted by the recent publication of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si, Old Testament lecturer Jessie Rogers will present three scripture evenings in Orlagh exploring the Old Testament Background to Jesus’ radical vision.  They will take place on three Thursday evenings, from 7.30-9.30pm each evening.  Cost €10 per session.  The titles for each session are as follows: Sept 24: “Give us this day our daily bread” - manna in the desert.  Oct 1: “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” - Sabbath and Jubilee.  Oct 8: “Thy kingdom come, they will be done” - Yahweh verses Baal.  For further information contact Orlagh Retreat Centre, Old Court Road, Dublin 16.   Tel (01) 495 8190.

Living with Suicide Day Retreat

The Annual Meeting of Coiste Tréadach

Merrion Road Parish Fun Day 2015

Merrion Road hosts its annual Parish Family Fun Day after 12 noon Mass on Sunday 20th September on the church grounds.  In addition to last year’s attractions (bouncy castle, face painting, etc.), trained young volunteers will offer Tours of the Church.

Monthly Social Evening for Young Couples

The next Social Evening for Couples preparing for Marriage (or just considering it) takes place at 8pm on Thursday 17th September in Our Lady Queen of Peace, Merrion Road.  A brief introduction by a priest is followed by a short video and discussion over tea/coffee with a facilitating couple.  All couples are welcome!  More details at:,145,0

Adult Studies of the Catechism

Autumn Liturgy Seminar 2015

Faith4Life 2015-16

Faith4Life is a new course designed to help you to discover more energising and empowering ways to live out your faith in the reality of today’s world: through relationships, family, home, parish, work and the events of daily life.  The course takes place in two locations again this year this year, the Oblate Retreat Centre, Inchicore (3rd/4th October, 21st/22nd November, 23rd/24th January 2016, 27th/28th February 2016) and The Margaret Aylward Centre for Faith and Dialogue, Glasnevin (31st Oct./1st Nov., 28th/29th November, 23rd/24th January 2016, 27th/28th February 2016).  It will be delivered in partnership agreement with the Archdioceses of Dublin and Liverpool.  Further information and application forms are available from the Office for Evangelisation and Ecumenism This email address is being protected from spambots. Culture Night 2016

This year’s Culture Night takes place on Friday 18th September as Holy Cross College, Clonliffe again displays the Diocesan Archives to the public.  View gems from the Archives including documents on Abraham Lincoln’s death on Good Friday 1865.  Learn about Marc Chagall (1887-1985) with an illustrated talk on his religious art by Fr. Damien McNeice.  Savour the sounds of the Dublin Diocesan Music Group with a concert of sacred music with Fr. Pat O’Donoghue.
