Consecrated Life: A Living Tradition within the Church

8:00pm Friday 23rd October to 2:00pm Monday 26th October with Brian O’Leary SJ.  Pope Francis named this year as a Year of Consecrated Life.  He invites the whole church to reflect on and come to appreciate the charisms of this ecclesial lifestyle.  Marking the 50th anniversary of Perfectæ Caritatis, Vatican II’s document on religious life, we offer this weekend as an opportunity to thoughtfully and prayerfully take up the Pope’s call.  Using insights from the Bible, the history of religious life, and its underlying theology, we will explore the sources of the passion and commitment that religious life, at its best, has always embodied.  In this way we will be able to embrace an uncertain future with hope.  Participants may choose to have meals in silence or talking.  Cost: €210.  Booking: 01 8331352 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Journey into Freedom

St. Martin de Porres Parish, Tallaght host a series of presentations over 6 weeks to help people develop a better relationship with and understanding of God.  These presentations are designed to support people who are struggling with their faith and feel distant or alienated from the church.  The title ‘Journey into Freedom’ is chosen because of the reactions of people as they come to a new sense of personal confidence, peace and freedom.  Each night an invited guest makes an engaging presentation with a personal story about coming to a deeper faith and what it means to them in everyday living.  Refreshments and a time of discussion follow when one’s questions and struggles are heard.  We invite you to join us for the series of talks beginning Tuesday 13th October at 8.00pm in St. Martin’s Church.
