Patrick Finn Lectures, Haddington Rd 2015

The Irish Peace Process -its achievements and shortcomings, 21 years on: Thurs 26th November 2015 at 7pm.  Dr. Martin Mansergh is a historian, a former Minister of State and a former senior adviser to successive Taoisigh. He was a Fianna Fáil TD for the Tipperary South constituency from 2007 until 2011. Prior to that he was a Senator from 2002 to 2007. He played a leading role in formulating Fianna Fáil policy on Northern Ireland.  He brings to this lecture a very direct and personal knowledge of the peace process informed by his analytical skills as a historian.  This should be a very interesting evening.  Please note the earlier starting time of 7pm.

The People’s Climate March

- will take place in Dublin on Sunday 29th November at 2pm.  Hundreds of thousands of us will be marching in cities around the world on November 29th in what we hope will be the largest climate change mobilisation in history, just before our leaders travel to Paris for the climate summit.  Pope Francis, in his encyclical Laudato Si, encourages us all to take action like this for Climate Justice.  He says, “Let us be protectors of creation, protectors of God’s plan inscribed in nature, protectors of one another and of the environment.”  2pm – People’s Climate Rally, Dublin at Custom House Quay, Dublin 1.

Milltown Christmas Fair 2015

A Christmas Fair will take place on Sunday 29th November from 10.30am – 2.30pm in Milltown Parish Pastoral Centre.  The Centre is located in Maple Hall, Milltown Road, Dublin 6.  Admission to the Fair is free.  There will be a Cake stall, crafts, Christmas gifts, preserves, Christmas cards, raffle, treasures stall and tea & coffee.  All are welcome to attend.

Festival of Faith - Glasthule 2015

The Redemptorist Fathers will conduct a ‘Festival of Faith’ in St Joseph's Church, Glasthule, Co. Dublin from Sunday 29th November to Saturday 5th December.  All are welcome!  It will be a celebration of who we are and what we stand for.

National Ecumenical Service November 2015

A National Ecumenical Service will take place on Wednesday 25th November at 7.30pm in St Teresa’s Church, Clarendon Street, Dublin.  Bishop Eamonn Walsh will be participating in preparation for the U.N. Climate Summit in the presence of President Michael D Higgins, Uachtarán na hÉireann.  This event is organised by Trócaire, Christian Aid and ECI.  All are welcome to attend.

Laurel Lodge Parish Mission 2015

Come hear the story of John Pridmore – author of ‘From Gangland to Promised Land’ – at our Parish Mission led by the St. Patrick’s Lay Community from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th November.  Daily Masses at 10am / evening services at 7.30pm.  Parish Mission will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Laurel Lodge Road, Castleknock, Dublin 15.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Rotunda Hospital Service of Remembrance

The Board, Master and Staff of the Rotunda Hospital invite you to a Service of Remembrance for people who have lost a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death.  The Service will be held in the Pro-Cathedral on Sunday 22nd November at 3pm.  Afterwards light refreshments will be served in the Gresham Hotel.  If you have any queries please contact the Hospital Chaplain on 01 8171700.
